Idaho Power Proposed Route

Routes depicted are those in Idaho Power's amended preliminary Application for Site Certificate for the Energy Facility Siting Council process.

The route overview map shows Idaho Power’s proposed transmission line route from the Hemingway substation in southwest Idaho to the Longhorn substation near Boardman, Oregon.

The alternative detail map shows areas with alternatives to the proposed route and where existing 230-kV transmission line segments would be rebuilt. The route alternatives include two West of Bombing Range Road alternatives in Morrow County, the Morgan Lake Alternative in Union County, and the Double Mountain Alternative in Malheur County. The areas where existing 230-kV transmission line segments would be rebuilt are in Baker and Malheur counties.

BLM Final Approved Route (2017)

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) released its Record of Decision (ROD) for the B2H Project on Nov. 17, 2017. The route approved in the ROD is the Agency Preferred Alternative as identified in the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Proposed Land-Use Plan Amendments.

The U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Department of the Navy and U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will issue separate RODs for the project. Visit the NEPA process webpage to learn more about the federal permitting process.
